Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México

After fifty years, the Estado de México Symphonic Orchestra, has been recognised as one of the most important and remarkable orchestras in Mexico and one of the best ones to represent the country around the world. It was founded in 1971 by Estado de México´s government to try to spread the concert´s music along the people. It was directed by Enrique Bátiz since its creation and until 1983, and from 1989 and 2018.  

The OSEM has been a departure point to develop art and culture in Estado de México, not only because it’s the most important group of this state but also because its work has impulse the creation of other music associations. It has performed along with the best directors and musicians in the world. It´s the Mexican orchestra who has been recorded the most. It has won the Mexican Union of Theatre and Music Chronists award many times. It has toured around the United States, Germany, Spain, Poland, France, France, China and Colombia. With a new leader, the OSEM deepens its compromise with the people from Estado de México to increased the audience and promoting the access to music.
