Porter

With a background of almost two decades, Porter keeps regenerating and surprising us. This Latin American rock band from Guadalajara is one of the main musical proposals in the Spanish speaking scene since 2004, the group keeps evolving while   keeping its experimental essence.

Porter consists of David Velasco, Fernando de la Huerta, Diego Rangel and Víctor Valverde, together they incorporate typical sounds of the Mexican culture to their songs, achieving a musical style that characterizes it as a band that is not afraid of experimentation.

Group | México

Ever from its first appearance in 2004, Porter has consolidated its position as one of the most important Mexican bands of the last decades and has known how to maintain the experimental and psychedelic style that characterizes them. It has sold more...

Curious fact:

Among Porter's impressive musical repertoire, their narrative album Moctezuma stands out. It is a powerful example of the link that the band seeks to stablish between the pre-Hispanic roots of their Mexican ancestors and the characteristic rhythms of their music.

In addition to its enormous international success, Moctezuma, which in Nahuatl means "lord of lords", is an innovative album for fusing pre-Hispanic sounds with psychedelic and experimental rock. Its lyrics are captivating for their spiritual and reflective content. In the songs that are part of the Moctezuma album, they narrate the history of the Mexican people who are sons of colonization, of a physical and ideological conquest, but who do not allow themselves to forget their roots.

“Porter has always displayed its talent on and off stage. However, the atmosphere and the vibe you feel when you see them is completely different. It feels as a true ceremony in which we’re all players.”

Jesús González. SOPITAS

“The current band is what Mexico needs, beyond the classics like Café Tacvba and Caifanes, just to mention a few. Porter is also a little bit of what this country is prepared to expect from the new generations.”

Mónica Maristain. MAREMOTO.

“(…) the group releases the unconscious of the people that listen to it. They are knowledgeable and honored for their skills.”
