Mexrrissey

This Mexican group reinvents the music of Morrissey and The Smiths using strings and brass in a spectacular way, between mariachi music and popular Mexican rhythms, they interpret in Spanish the hits of the Manchester diva and get the audience to sing at the top of their lungs. Although they only have one studio album, No Manchester, the band led by Camilo Lara has successfully transcended to international stages in London, New York and Sydney.

Curious fact:

The band's first album, No Manchester, was recorded in Mexico City and Tucson, Arizona. This is the first Mexican album to appear in the UK music charts. It was produced and arranged by Camilo Lara and Sergio Mendoza, while Jack Lahana, winner of several Grammys for his work with bands such as Phoenix and Daft Punk, oversaw the final mix of this album.

Morrissey

Steven Patrick Morrissey is an English singer and songwriter who was also the vocalist and leader of the famous band The Smiths, founded alongside Johnny Marr in 1982. Morrissey was born in 1959 in the county of Lancashire, United Kingdom, son of both Irish parents. At an early age, he showed an interest in music and participated in different musical projects in groups and as a soloist. Perhaps the love his fans profess for him is owed to the fact that his music and lyrics boosted the self-esteem of misunderstood and lonely teenagers of those generations who listened to The Smiths and to whom each song was an echo of their thoughts and emotions.
