Alain Pérez Quinteto

The trip

Alain Pérez Quinteto gives us a taste of musical revolution whose origin can be found on the most rhythmic island on the Caribbean. As every nice jazz, the fusion and the improvisation are a very important part of this project: new arrangements, courageous improvisations and a certain number of rhythms from flamenco and rumba are the characteristics that have made Latin jazz so popular, and this quintet knows how to manage them. This show will present Alain´s journey of learning and experimenting which started in Cuba and that has led him to work with some important musicians such as Chucho Valdés, Celia Cruz and Paco de Lucía.

He graduated from Chucho Valdés´s school, which is also the institute where Paco de Lucía and Celia Cruz studied (Alaín also collaborated briefly with this two artist).
