Takashi Hirayasu y Armando Montiel
Fusion of rythms from Okinawa and México
In his first tour in Latin America, Takashi Hirayasu presents a show composed of traditional Okinawan music and original compositions. His musical proposal is a fusion between the traditional sounds of his island and western music, such as blues, jazz and rock, where the sound of the sanshin stands out. The sanshin is a lute-like stringed instrument that has been the common thread throughout the history of Okinawan music.

Curious fact:
Okinawa Island
Okinawa Island is the largest of Japan's Ryūkyū Islands, where the capital city Naha is located. The island is home to the ruins of six Gusuku, typical fortresses form the Okinawan culture that have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. Okinawa is known for having the longest-living population in the world and many people attribute this to its food, which includes pork, fish, seaweed and vegetables such as sweet potato and bitter melon.
Sanshin
It is a lute-like stringed instrument that has been the common thread in the history of the Okinawan music. It predates the Japanese shamisen and has its origins in the Chinese sanxian. It is covered with snakeskin, which gives it its lively, high-pitched sound.
